Volunteers may contribute original reporting, interviews, research, or any other item of work that helps readers better understand American political life beyond the major parties. Experience is helpful, but curiosity and a commitment to accurate, fair reporting matters the most.

As a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit newsroom, OMF does not publish material intended to endorse candidates, promote political parties, or support lobbying activity. Contributors are expected to follow our editorial standards and approach every subject with accuracy and appropriate scrutiny.
